This week in the cinema, we ended up watching From Paris With Love, a French film which surprisingly looks like an American film. Kind of like Belgian director Erik van Looy did with De zaak Alzheimer but by even going one step further and replacing the French actors with well-known American actors, John Travolta in this case.

This week's film was Shutter Island the new Scorsese flick starring Leo DiCaprio. It's a story of an insane asylum in the 1950s housing only the US' most dangerous criminals. Until somebody goes missing...

This week's film was Surrogates, which tells us the story of a not so distant future where people no longer leave their homes, but instead live their life through robotic surrogates.

Film Review: Public Enemies

The second film in the row of movies I have to catch up on blogging about was Public Enemies. Yet another much-hyped film, starring Johnny Depp and Christian 'Batman with too much stress on his voice' Bale. The film is supposed to be a 1930s styled version of Robin Hood, but the only thing I can remember is that it was just way too long...

About two weeks ago, due to a lack of better material in the theatre, we went to see the "sequel" to The Da Vinci Code (which I up to this day still haven't seen/read) Angels & Demons. If you're looking for brainless entertainment, this is it.

This week's Monday night film was Duplicity, a tale of spies and secrecy which all in all turned out not to be too bad.

Normally, I always use the excuse of not having any time when I'm late blogging about a film I've seen, however this time I just could not be bothered to write anything about The International. Maybe I'm just lazy, or maybe the film did not leave that much of an impression on me. Probably the latter...

Film Review: Watchmen

This week we watched Watchmen, the much-hyped film adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel from the late 80s. I say much-hyped because it seemed like it was impossible to not have noticed this film, it was on the cover of magazines and the TV commercial was shown at the beginning of every ad block between just about every programme. And I do mean every ad block, so three times between every show. Very annoying! The film itself: no so bad.

Due to a lack of better material to watch, this week's movie choice was the Tom Cruise flick Valkyrie. I was in the mood for some plain and simple entertainment, and I got what I asked for.

Film Review: Traitor

This week was "men @ the movies" week again at the Kinepolis, meaning we were treated again to a horde of semi-drunk men and a stupid bimbo presenting the film and handing out useless merchandise. The film they had chosen was Traitor, which seemed pretty good but was only quite mediocre.
